Onancock vacation rental in the :"Coolest Town in the South"

Greetings from the beautiful Eastern Shore of Virginia. I am a relocated wanna be retired Realtor from Long Beach Island New Jersey who is finding that we always have to keep reinventing ourselves. After moving here we had purchased a cottage just outside town limits in a community called Nancock Gardens. It is a cul de sac area with water on two sides of it near the end. We thought that we would rent it out forever and then sell it at a big profit. Well, welcome to reality. Our original tenant was transferred and now we are dealing with this cottage. What to do? Do we sell? Do we rent it year round again? OR do we do vacation rentals!!! I'm thinking...I love it here so much that I think it is a great place to vacation.
So, I am entering the world of vacation rentals again (handled them for 26 years in NJ).
The floor man is in there today - refinishing beautiful oak floors which had been covered with carpet. I will paint later this week. We still have extra furniture from when we lived in Manahawkin, NJ. so, I think the ad will have to go: Cute 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage in the "Coolest Town in the South" Onancock! You'll love our nature! Kayak, canoe, biking, fishing, crabbing, nature trails are all immediately available. For the golfer there are 3 great courses - all nearby (Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club and 2 signature courses in Cape Charles). Downtown Onancock offers super restaurants as well as nifty gift shops and impressive art galleries. There is a performing playhouse and a movie theater. Stroll down to the warf and take the ferry to the island of Tangier for the day. Chincoteague/Assateague and the beach are 35 miles away. One hour to Virginia Beach.
The cottage is fully equipped for easy vacation living. Fully equipped kitchen, towels, bed linens. Available weekly 6/1-10/1 for $800 per week. Call for reservations: 757-709-2292.
So, what do ya think? Want an affordable vacation? Come explore the shore!
